Val d'Isere village at night

Val d'Isere Apres-Ski

Located at the end of France’s Haute Tarentaise valley, in the Espace Killy ski region, Val d'Isere is one of the world’s finest ski resorts. It provides a wide variety of apres-ski facilities and activities for visitors to the resort.

Restaurants

In Val d'Isere village and on the slopes, you will find dozens of restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets – from Chinese to American to local Savoyarde cuisine.

In the village, try Perdrix Blanche for a wide variety, La Casa Scara for delicious Italian food, or Le Pré d’Aval for local specialities.

On the hill, Le Signal provides great value food and a large sun terrace. Situated between the Le Fornet Cable car and Le Signal Gondola, with easy access to the slopes, this is a great place to stop off for lunch. Le Clochetons at the bottom of the Santons piste is ideal for meeting non-skiers, and has amazing views up the Manchet valley.

Bars & Clubs

The resort is home to over forty clubs and bars, providing entertainment and a place to socialise into the early hours. With such a variety of drinks, menus and atmospheres on offer, there’s something in Val for everyone.

Dick’s Tea Bar is one of the most famous and busiest bars in the Alps, with over 1,000 customers a day passing through the doors. Dick’s plays host to the big name DJ’s and is a great place for both apres-ski and finishing off the night. The Moris holds popular live music nights and has an excellent burger kitchen. The Danish owned Petit Danois also offers brilliant food and a great atmosphere. Blue Note is a relaxed bar just off the main square, which is a favourite with seasonal workers. There are also several French bars to try, such as Café Face and Bananas.

Shopping

Val d'Isere has some of the best shopping in the Alps. Whether you’re looking for clothing, ski and snowboard gear, or souvenirs, there’s plenty to choose from. Brands on offer include: The North Face, Billabong, Quiksilver, Eden Park, Helly Hansen, Peak Performance, Fat Face and Nike ACG.

Spas & Pools

The public baths is an ideal place to relax, with an indoor pool, steam baths and sauna. This is situated close to the nursery slopes, at the bottom of L’Olympique gondola. Open daily (except Saturdays) from 2pm to 7pm.

Several of the hotels in Val also offer spa facilities and beauty treatments. Ask your chalet host for more details.

Ice Skating

Ice skating facilities are available in the village, above the Centre Car Park. Open daily from 2pm to 6.30pm, between December and early March (weather dependent).

Ice Climbing

If you’re feeling energetic, you could try climbing the Ice Fountain at La Daille, a frozen waterfall over 200m high. High-mountain guides are available to teach you how to use the equipment.

Husky Sleigh Rides

Just a few minutes walk from the Hundred Hills chalet, you can board a husky-drawn sleigh to take you up the Manchet Valley. Pulled by a team of 6 to 12 huskies, at 10km an hour, you can cover between 30 and 60km in a day. Sleigh rides run once or twice weekly.
